The Story of Villa di Mare


Back in 1925 when Rhodes was an Italian Province, Miramare was the first hotel to be built on the island. Soon, just as Rhodes became a cosmopolitan destination for the crème de la crème of the time, the hotel that today is Villa di Mare became a popular spot for nobles and jet-setters, for the rich and famous from all around the world. Many famous personas passed through the halls of the hotel; Aristotle Onassis and Maria Callas, Antony Quinn, Winston Churchill and numerous other prominent figures of the world.
